                                                                 Who is MaryAnn Pittman?

 

     MaryAnn Pittman has over 40 years experience working with horses.  She holds a BS degree in Equine Studies from Centenary University of NJ.  She spent a semester abroad in England, earning her British Horse Society Horsemanship and Instructors certifications.  She also rode on Centenary's Intercollegiate Riding Team, Dressage, and Event Teams.

     MaryAnn gained practical experience with horses back East:  teaching hunt seat equitation to kids and adults, galloping TB racehorses, teaching USPC, and grooming for an Olympic Pairs Driver.

     In 1987, she got married and moved to Jackson Hole, Wyoming.  After moving to Star Valley in 1991, she helped create Star Valley Pony Club (non-profit USPC) in 1993, and was the main instructor until 2001.  From 1996-2016 she was actively competing in USEA events mostly Novice/Training and schooling Prelim levels.  She currently teaches English riding lessons, trains OTTB and AQHA horses, and is breeding Quarter Horses and Thoroughbreds for Wyoming racing. 

     Birch Creek Stables is owned and operated by Jon and MaryAnn Pittman, and was incorporated in 2001.  Jon and MaryAnn have 2 grown children and continue to enjoy activities in the Intermountain West.
